8 month update

What a fun month! Madeline is now up on all fours a lot... rocking and rolling. It is so stinkin cute. She also gets on her hands and feet and sticks her booty up in the air (imagine downward facing dog in yoga). She can scoot herself all over the place, but she's not quite crawling yet. She can sit very well now. She is beginning to enjoy eating more and more. Her favorite food so far is carrots. She still LOVES bouncing... on a knee or in her bouncer. She loves when we clap, and she likes to give high fives and play pattycake. She says "dadadada" and makes a noise as if she's clearing her throat. She thinks the dogs are HILARIOUS.Bathtime continues to be a big hit!

The ER Gang

Last weekend, we had a brief but fun reunion with the "ER gang." Naomi won the award for the cutest outfit... notice the little duck on her booty :)

Anna couldn't make it because she had a fever, poor chica!Madeline had a GREAT time seeing Naomi and playing with some of her toys!

The first tooth

Madeline's first tooth popped up today. It's the bottom front left tooth :) She tolerated it fairly well, with a very low grade temp yesterday.

Swimming fun

Daddy came to the Y with us this morning to catch Madeline in action. Here we are waiting for our class to start: She loves watching all of the other kids having their swim lessons!

Madeline is "swimming" after the toy...Getting closer, closer...Got it!

Baby's first haircut

Today, I trimmed a few of Madeline's crazy wild hairs that were way longer than the rest of her hair. I guess they were the stragglers that hung on since birth. I contemplated saving them as a momento, but then I thought... seriously? Who would ever find old dead protein to be a good keepsake?

Our little goldfish

Madeline had her first swimming lesson at the Y this morning! She had a great time splashing and bouncing around in the water. Plus she got to hang out with 6 other cute babies. Next week, hopefully Daddy can come along with us for photo documentation purposes :)

Yogalates baby

Madeline's already practicing doing her planks, so she can build strong core muscles. Surprisingly, I actually managed to catch her in motion with the camera!

Okay, this was fun at first... but now I'm getting tired of that flashing light in my face!

Happy New Year

Yesterday, we went on a little hike by some river on the north side of Springfield. We had fun watching the dogs run off some energy, and Madeline enjoyed some fresh air, even though it was pretty chilly! Here she is in the Baby Bjorn (p.s. Thanks to Izzy for the awesome hat and gloves!), before I put on the rest of my gear: Notice the discrepancy between how Mommy and Madeline are bundled up and how Daddy is wearing just a sweatshirt, no gloves, no hat, no coat!
