More laundry basket fun

Poor Madeline, maybe we need to start saving up so that we can buy her some decent toys! Ha-ha.

Where is the deer?

There it is! Madeline was fascinated with the stuffed deer head at Granny and Poppy's.
Oops, I might have falled over, but I'm still pointing at the deer!
Thanks for the awesome shirt Uncle Brandon and Aunt Jasmine! But, did you see the deer? Thanks for pointing with me, Daddy, but I don't think you're pointing at the deer!

Visiting Sullivan

Ed, Madeline, Zoe, Lily, and I had an awesome visit in Sullivan, MO, yesterday for about 5 hours too long. We were on our way to Springfield for the weekend, innocently cruising down the highway... when a trail of smoke started to follow us. We pulled off at the next exit, got to the gas station, and stopped there. Ed thought that the coolant was leaking. However, the gas station didn't have any coolant, so they sent us on our merry little way down the road 2 short miles to the nearest mechanic shop. About halfway there, the car stopped accelerating when you pressed on the gas. Now, I don't know much about cars, but I know that ain't right. We were able to get a tow truck to pick us up pretty quickly, thank goodness, and take us to the mechanic's shop... where we waited. and waited. and waited. 5 hours later, Enterprise hooked us up with a sa-weet pick-up truck and we cruised the rest of the way to Granny and Poppy's in style! Today has been a much better day.

Uh-oh!

Daddy taught Madeline to say "uh-oh!" yesterday. Good job Daddy! She mostly says it appropriately, like when she "drops" things. Her favorite word is still "dada" followed by "hi." We had 2 other "uh-oh!'s" today at Dr. Spewak's office. Madeline is slightly anemic, so now she has to take an iron supplement. And she has bilateral ear infections again. Poop. Oh well, at least now it's not a knock-em-down-drag-em-out fight every time we have to give her the antibiotics. She happily swallows the yummy pink stuff now :) The good news from the doctor is that she is staying on her growth curve... 31 inches long (75th percentile) and 19 lbs 10 oz (25th percentile). Although technically you're supposed to keep the car seat facing backwards until she's over 20 lbs, Dr. Spewak said we could go ahead and let her face forward. Yay!

12 month update

You are walking up a storm these days. You still LOVE waving at everyone, sometimes even throwing in a double wave. You have the best smile and laugh. Luckily, you love to share those with us! Your favorite stuffed animals are "bun-bun" and "pinkle-potomus." You have lots of awesome toys, and you like turning the pages of your cardboard books. You are drinking whole milk now, gone are the days of measuring and mixing formula. You are eating whatever you want, which usually isn't too much. You love "petting" the dogs, i.e. playing them like bongo drums. You just started pointing at things. You still love bouncing with Daddy. We both love you more than you could ever imagine!!
